Great blog - refreshing to hear someone wax objectively about this city in which I've spent my whole life - half a century this year. We hate to love it at the same time as we love to hate it. I see you're getting a few music leads here so I'll offer mine: when you get a chance, check out the Liptonians (won a Western Canada music award this year) Flying Fox and the Hunter Gatherers, House of Doc, and J.P LePage. And if you get a chance, get out to the Wpg. Folk Fest - I hear Elvis Costello will be there this year. And you've probably already heard the Weakerthans. Be sure to check out the mini one-day Back 40 folk fest in the bowl in Morden (first weekend in June) for local Manitoba talent.
